Lessons

Good Times Music offers lessons on a variety of instruments including guitar, drums, piano, bass, ukulele, accordion, fiddle, banjo, mandolin, and even digital music and basic recording.

Lessons are $25 / half hour and take place in the Good Times Music lesson rooms.

Instructors

  • Bob Hiltunen

    Bob has been teaching music lessons in the Keweenaw for years. Bob teaches beginning to advanced guitar, drums, ukulele, accordion, concertina, bass, and digital music, recording. Bob teaches young children through adults and currently teaches elementary music in the Hancock Schools.

  • Kathleen Arten

    Kathleen teaches beginner through advanced piano to players of all ages. She is also a local organist and specializes in classical music.

  • Dave Morehouse

    Dave is a folk music machine. He’s been a gigging and teaching musician for decades and is versatile on many folk instruments, including fiddle, mandolin, banjo, and accordion.

  • Trenton Maki

    Trent taught lessons at Good Times from 2014-2016 as well as in Phoenix in 2022-23. He’s back in the Keweenaw and teaches beginner through advanced guitar. His specialties are rock n roll, country music, blues, and metal. He teaches students of all ages.

  • Rebekah Schmidt

    Rebekah teaches beginner guitar and specializes in working with young students.

  • Santa

    Santa is an expert kazooist. He is too busy preparing for Christmas and monitoring the store floor to give lessons.
